The Symi Festival has been organized every summer for 14 years now.Traditional dance performances from all over Greece (Larissa, Neapoli, Elassona, Symi, Achaea and Chania) will also be held. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy plays in the dialect of Symi and one-day events dedicated to Symi, and, more particularly, to the regions of Panormitis, Nimborio and Pedi.
It should be noted that the island of Symi is particularly famous for its shrimps.
This is the reason why the local women’s association is organizing a shrimp festival.
The events of 1 and 2 September are dedicated to the friendship and peace between the Greeks and the Turks. They are co-organised by the Greek municipality of Symi and the Turkish municipality of Datsa in Turkey.
