KREMASTI - RHODOS

With the corresponding document we inform you that the Community of Rhodes is the largest Community of the island of Rhodes with approximately 5.000 residents.
It is situated in the northwest side of the island and in the countershaft of Rhodes - Airport and it is 12km from the town of Rhodes and 3km far from the Airport. It is also a transporting node that connects the entire north side of the island with the city of Rhodes and the airport with the east side through the new provincial road.
Religion and Folklore events in Kremasti

It is from the prettiest Communities of Rhodes, its center is 700m far from the sea, offering beautiful and cheap touring lodgings, all kinds of shops for tourists, a verdant scenery and it is connected with the town of Rhodes through the frequent urban means of transport.

The Community of Kremasti takes up space from the ancient Ialysias.
The Castle of the Kremasti has been built since the age of the Knights of Rhodes and was the residence of the great magician. It is located on a small hill in the center of the settlement and its name is said to come either from the fact that the old built-up area overhangs around the Castle or through the paraphrase of the great magician "Grand Maestri".

In the Community of Kremasti the majestic Temple of the Assumption predominates, that feasts in the 15th of August and the nine days after the funeral of Virgin Mary, that represents the Pandodecanesian Worship and the religious celebration which lasts from the 1st till the 23rd of August.

During the same period, approximately from 10 to 23 of August the Panhellenic Handicrafts’ Exhibition of Kremasti takes place in special installations.

Sumptuous cultural manifestations take place in the new year's day, the Epiphany the period of Easter and the 15th of August.
