Introduction
LINDOS
About 35 miles (55 kms) away from the city of Rhodos is located the legendary Lindos.
It is built on an impressive rock, 400 feet over the blue sea.
It has the Temple of Athena (Minerva) offering to the visitor a breathtaking view.
Exactly below the Acropolis of Lindos is built the white town of Lindos which counts 3.500 years of history.
This place is unique and the visitor will have the opportunity to admire a lot of things around, for example, the streets which are made by black and white pebbles, the interior of the houses,decorated with ceramics.
One of the things you can admire is the ancient galley, which is lapidarian on a rock, and symbolizes the naval and trading power of Lindos which was extended in the whole Mediterranean sea.
Also one of the interesting sights is the belfry of the 11th century church in the town of Lindos.
